Save The Lakes - Letter from the leadership

Dear Rhode Island Resident,

“Save The Lakes” is developing and growing into an active organization that will accomplish what its name implies, SAVE THE LAKES.  All fresh water bodies in the state of Rhode Island are having some type of difficulty or a need that must be addressed.  The various situations range from, run off pollution from roads, rapid development of residential and commercial buildings, numerous invasive plants  and unwanted species, trash and litter pollution, septic or unclean drainage directly or indirectly seeping into a fresh water body, the use of lawn fertilizers and phosphates, filling in of shoreline, etc., etc., etc. “ Save The Lakes” is where lake associations and individual waterfront homeowners can turn to find possible suggestions for solutions and HELP from a team of concerned citizens to meet this need.

There is much to be accomplished in saving our fresh water bodies.  This goal can be attained through communication, research, education, and development.  Numerous committees and activities are available for members of  STL to join to use their personnel skills and knowledge for the benefit of all. All current involved members are caring, determined, and focused on the future of our fresh water.  Every Rhode Island resident should be concerned about our fresh water as it directly affects us today and our future.

It is a privilege for us to be members of “Save The Lakes”.   Our goal is before us and we will continue to work together to SAVE THE LAKES  for the next generation.  Fresh water is a gift that needs to be improved, protected, and preserved for tomorrow.  So… Please join with us.

Sincerely,

     Judy Colaluca                                                          Ray Theriault
